Temporary Lifeline Systems
1. Temporary Lifeline Systems: Cable
- Temporary lifeline systems are used for the protection of workers who operate in fall risk areas such as roofs or scaffolding, a type of collective protection measure in fall arrest systems. It consists of a metal cable that is attached to the structure and a protective carriage assembly that blocks in case of a fall
- Workers using these systems must be equipped with safety belts or other types of personal protective equipment that are attached to the protective device and keep them safe in the event of a fall.
- Temporary lifeline systems must be designed and installed in accordance with applicable safety rules and regulations, which vary by country and type of work. They must be tested and checked regularly to ensure that they are safe and in good condition.
- It is important that workers are properly trained for the correct use of temporary lifeline systems and are supervised by qualified personnel during their use to prevent accidents and ensure safety when working at height.
Advantages
- Retractable lifeline is simply pulled out for installation and retracted with built-in handle to tension the line
- Customise your system length in any increment up to 18 m for complete jobsite flexibility
- Entire system stores in an easy to carry case - no more coils of unmanageable cable!
- Installation, removal and storage is the fastest in the industry, taking only seconds, providing ultimate worker productivity
- Built-in tension and impact indicators take the guess-work out of system set-up and service
- Attaches to any 22 kN rated anchorage connector or stanchion for added versatility
- Provides hands-free horizontal mobility and continuous protection for 2 users per system
- The cable has a swivel snap hook in order to avoid the twisting of the rope
- Can be used in ATEX atmosphere (zone 1).
COOL LINE 1 is the most user friendly horizontal lifeline system on the market today! Easy to install, remove and store, COOL LINE 1’s innovative retractable design allows the user to quickly and efficiently set-up any length of system in only seconds and dismantle it just as quick. The entire 18 m COOL LINE 1 system is retracted into an easy to carry case which eliminates large and bulky coils of cable that are difficult to set-up, relocate and store.
Installation is completed in four simple steps:
- Attach the lifeline with the carabiner to an anchorage connector
- Depress the locking button allowing cable to pay out and walk to the next anchorage
- Attach the housing/case with the carabiner to the anchorage connector
- Tension the lifeline with the built-in crank handle

2. Temporary Lifeline Systems: Textile
- Quick to set up, no connecting or swaging of components, simple ratchet handle to tension the lifeline.
- No separate components just connect to suitable anchorage point.
- Available in 10m and 20m lengths.
- Lightweight and easy to handle, incorporated carry bag.
- Fall Arrest rated for 2 users.
- Built in shock absorber reduces end loadings to preserve the structure.
- Meets CE EN795 Class C standards.
Quick and easy to install:
The new Pro-Line allows just that. Simply attach the karabiners to suitably rated anchorage points (22kN) and tension the line via the integrated ratchet and the system is ready to use. The line can be used in any length up to either 10m or 20m, dependent on the version bought.
- Remove the web from the bag and attach one end to a suitable anchor point.
- Open ratchet and attach to opposite anchor.
- Close ratchet and tension. Place excess web in bag.
- Open ratchet to loosen Lifeline and remove from anchor. Place back into bag.
Advantages:
- There are many instances where a horizontal lifeline to ensure the safety of a user is the best practical option, but the time spent assembling and installing the system make it impractical to do so. What is needed is a quick means of installing the system so work is unaffected.
- The integrated bag allows the excess webbing to be stored in there that is not being used. This can help prevent damage from foot traffic, dirt and wear, thus improving the lifespan of the line.
- The Pro-Line is suitable for many applications, especially those where work is only required at a point for a limited amount of time. The quick and easy assembly and dis-assembly makes it suitable for these types of applications. Construction work is a major area where the advantages of the Pro-Line can be utilised. Once the work is done on one area, the line is taken down and set up at the next work point.
